Bringing the struggles in Iran to the streets of Bologna with a new display of posters designed by AIA (Anonymous Iranian Artists), a collective of Iranian artists, curators, creators and cultural operators based in Iran and around the world.

This is a declaration of belief in the power of the street as a place of struggle and revolution and the power of public art itself.

A project by Cheap in partnership with UNTOLDs

Flashback:

On September 16 2022, Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Kurdish woman, died in hospital in Tehran as a result of injuries inflicted by the morality police. Three days earlier, she had been arrested on charges of wearing her hijab "improperly" and was beaten and tortured in custody. Since the day of her funeral on September 17, Jin, Jiyan, Azadi (Woman, Life, Freedom) has been the cry of protest that, four months later, accompanies public demonstrations against the compulsory hijab laws, gender apartheid and the Islamic Republic itself.
